Today we travelled to Conkers to experience Roman life.

It was interesting to see if the bus driver followed our previously planned routes to our destination or took an alternative route. Upon arrival, we took a short train trip to the Waterside site where we met the infamous Boudicca in the amphitheatre. We then learnt about Roman life and Roman roads before creating our own mosaics in the art studio. We enjoyed a picnic lunch and then met a real-life Roman centurion. After a workshop about the Celts and Druids it was sadly time to go home. We had a fantastic day out and a good time was had by all. Thank you to all our amazing helpers, you were brilliant! Well done to Summer Prince our Writer of the Week!

Summer wrote a beautiful description of the setting for her own Roman Myth, packed full of exciting description, similes and relative clauses. Super work Summer, keep it up.

Today Year 4 held it’s own table tennis tournament. The boys and girls competed against each other to see who was the champion of the table! A close fought final between Will and Noah saw Noah emerge victorious for the boys. While the girls saw a three-way tie between Maisey, Esha and Kacey. The whole year group displayed some lovely sportsmanship and it was a thoroughly enjoyable event. Well done to all!

Year 4 had great fun planting the newly delivered trees today!
