Last week in Science we began to look into the workings of the electrical equipment around us.

We then were given the equipment to create our own circuit and tried to make the bulb light up.

Getting to grips with vocabulary.11-09-2020 | 15:17:05 | No Comments

This week in Year 4 we have had a big focus on vocabulary.

In Guided Reading we have been focusing on vocabulary questions such as:

What does the word ‘plains’ mean on pg 6? What does the writer mean when he describes the city as ‘Mighty’? What does the writer mean when he writes, ‘…an invisible city’?

All of these questions link to our text for this term called ‘The boy who cried horse’ an adaptation of the story of the Trojan horse.

In English we have been looking at the different types of words in a sentence and how we can make them better.

We created a verb caterpillar, an adjective flower and noun jellyfish! Take a look!

What a super first (mini) week we have had!

Not only have we been looking at our new Topic of the Ancient Greeks but we have been writing some fantastic descriptions in English.

Today we continued our work on Ancient Greek pottery and after becoming an archaeologist and looking at some images of real Ancient Greek pots we used that information to design our own. Miss Whitmore and Miss Hampson were so impressed they have put them to sell in a pottery shop!

Take a look.
